A New Year is Almost Upon Us!

I can’t really believe it almost 2011. Where have the last 12 months gone?

I have to say that 2010 wasn’t a bad year overall but did I achieve everything I wanted to especially in the area of Internet Marketing ? The answer to that question is most certainly no so what went wrong.

The best decision I made was to sign up for John Thornhill’s Masterclass. This is undoubtedly one of the best courses on the market for anyone who is serious about making an income online. Unfortunately I did not keep focused on the course and flirted with too many other ideas which appeared in my inbox on a daily basis. Even though I knew the Masterclass course would provide all the tuition and tools needed I spent too long looking at other glossy sales pages rather than keeping moving forward with the course. As a result I got further and further behind and never actually produced my product. I then decided to open a new Gmail account for all my internet marketing information except for John Thornhill and Daniel Sumner. This has reduced the distraction levels and I can browse that account at my leisure. I also am in less danger of missing any important emails.

So what are my online business New Year’s resolutions?

1 Well firstly I am going back to week 4 or 5 of the Masterclass course to start some revision.
2 I am going to plan time each week to make sure I get through the course
3 Take time each day to read the forum
4 Update my blog at least once a week
5 Read other peoples blogs and make positive comments on them
6 Build a list of subscribers
7 Produce a product that people will get value from and provide substantial added value

Well I have set out my plans.

Happy New Year to all my fellow students and anyone else who cares to read this. Let’s hope that 2011 is a very productive and successful year.

    So what you are saying is….I am not alone! I did the same thing and you know what? I am focused. And I am not going to lose focus until my things are complete!
    I am tired of being half done! 2011 is my year to get things DONE!
    I will see you in the class (again) and maybe we can hook up and help each other along the way!! :)
    Didn’t you find that after all the shiny new objects the info you were truly looking for was already in the class? Maybe our brain think shiny and new is the way to go because John is so laid back and non hypey!! And he still makes a ton of moolah! And he give back to his students tremendously!

    Thanks for dropping by, I am interested to find out about other Masterclass students. There are a lot who seem to have fallen by the wayside. It’s so important to help each other along the way. At the moment it’s only really you and Jacinta that I am in touch with.

    Dan Sumner has agreed to help me out too so hopefully I am surrounding myself with other like minded individuals.

  3. Hi Chris, that’s a good list. I thought I’d mention that you can write your blog posts when you like and pre-book them in wordpress to come out when you want them too. That way you have a regular post out each week and when you are stuck for time and can’t write one you could have a few backed up ready to go. It’s easy to book them in in your admin panel. Give me a shout if you need to know how. Good luck for 2011.

    I am one of Johns Masterclass students.

    Just been checking out your blog.

    I like your list and doing the same as your self going back to week 4/5 and going back over all the modules.

    I sort of dropped out for a while due to illness and just getting back into the swing of things again.

    I am looking to build up friendships and help support people….if thats possible..lols

    I think by helping each other and seeing each other progress it helps everybody to keep going, as I really want to make this work.

    I am more than happy for anybody to contact me and keep in touch.

    Great to see you are starting the new yr with focus. Personally i haven’t set out my goals for this year in such a way but what i have done is started keeping a daily journal and boy what a difference it makes. It helps you identify weak areas and make daily goals to get you where you want and need to be. One of my goals was to have a list of 3000 by the end of 2011. Now having my journal helped me focus on the activities proven to help me achieve this. Ideally i need at least 8 subscribers per day to reach this goal and since i started my journal i am hitting between 5 and 7 already. Give it try, you’ll be amazed at how much more productive you become. I wish you all the best for 2011 and may it be one of success for us all.

    Your New Year’s resolutions are very focused so, I would say that you are well and truly over the “next shiny object” thing. I’m sure that we have all suffered from it, at one time or another.

    Good luck with the rest of the course and I hope that when you look back, this time next year; it’s to see just how far you have come.
